Simon Theophilus Bailey (born August 26, 1968) is an American motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur.[2] He is known for his work in leadership development and personal transformation.
Early life and education
[edit]Bailey was born in Buffalo, New York.[3][4] He earned a Bachelor's degree in Theology from Life Christian University in Tampa, and a master's degree in Theology and Theological Studies from Faith Christian University in Orlando.[5][6] He completed the Executive Management Certificate program at Rollins College[7][8] and earned an Executive MBA from Ducere Global Business School - University of East London in 2024.[9] Bailey received an honorary Doctorate of Science in Business Administration from Cleary University.[10][11]
Career
[edit]Bailey's career began in the hospitality industry,[12][13][14] notably serving as Sales Director for Disney Institute at Walt Disney World Resort,[15][16][12][17] where he was the first African American in this role.[18][19] In 2003, he founded Brilliance Institute, Inc., focusing on leadership and personal development training.[20][21][22] In 2010, he served as the Vice President of University Relations for Oral Roberts University.[23] Bailey has worked with numerous global organizations including American Express, Deloitte, and Microsoft.[24][25][26]
Bailey was a weekly contributing writer for The Business Journals (a part of American City Business Journals family).[27][5][3] He has authored several books including "Release Your Brilliance"[2] and "Shift Your Brilliance",[27][28][29] and contributes to publications such as Business Insider,[30] Entrepreneur[20] and Success.com.[31][32][33][34]
Bailey is CEO of Simon T. Bailey International,[22] focusing on leadership coaching through programs like Brilliant Coaching™[21][35][36] and BrilliantU™.[24][37] He serves on the boards of the U.S. Dream Academy and Orlando Health Foundation.[16][38][8]
Recognition
[edit]Bailey was inducted into the National Speakers Association's CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame in 2015[39][7][13] and named among the top 10 professional keynote speakers in 2022.[40]
